Welcome to the Finger Lakes International Dragon Boat (FLIDBF) website.

Hosted by the Ithaca Asian American Association (IAAA) and its Ithaca Dragon Boat Program (IDBC), our goal is to promote, educate and celebrate Asian, Asian American heritage and culture. Through dragon boating and the festival, we have introduced one of Asia’s prominent cultural festivities and most revered water sport to the Ithaca community.

We invite you to join us for our 11th installment of the Finger Lakes International Dragon Boat Festival on Saturday, July 14, 2018. We expect teams from major US dragon hubs of Boston, Philadelphia, New York, and Washington, D.C to join us in sprint racing of 200M, 500M, 1000M or 2000M distances in various divisions including Youth, Premier Mixed, and Women, BCS/All Cancer, and Senior (40+). At the sports level, they can really move the boat; completing a 200M sprint in less than 60 seconds!

As in the past, local teams are encouraged and welcome to compete in the Community/Novice division. This year we will be featuring a 10 person team instead of 20 that will enable more participation from businesses, non-profit organizations, and youth associations for effective team building and of course bragging rights. Past winners of our Community Divisions have been teams from Alternative FCU, Ithaca Police, Cayuga Outrigger, and Ithaca Material Science to name a few. Will your team be the 2018 Champion?
